The genius twins destroyed the final dream of the Czech floorball players

Singapore (from our correspondent) – Both teams repeated the semi-final match from the last World Cup in Uppsala, where the Finns celebrated after winning 5:4. There was no drama this time…

The championship moved to the 12,000-seat National Indoor Stadium for the weekend’s final program, which, looking at the stands with only clusters of Czech and Finnish fans, was not a completely necessary step.

From the start, the spectators with the white flag and the blue cross had more reason to rejoice. The Kauppi family showed their first glimpse of floorball genius in the second minute, when Oona served her sister the ball in front of an empty goal. In the thirteenth minute, the stars of the Swedish team Thorengruppen switched roles.

The Czech team took a while to get used to the significantly faster pace of the game after the superbly managed quarter-final against Denmark, goalkeeper Jana Christianová kept them in the game with quick saves. And even before the break, Vanessa Rebecca Keprtová got the Czechs within range, when she burned through everything that stood in her way.

But instead of turning around after the break, the Finns increased their lead thanks to Veera Kauppiová, who confirmed why she has already been voted the best floorball player in the world three times. Miisa Turunenová, the third member of the elite Finnish formation, made it 4:1

During the power play, Denisa Ratajová still gave hope with an accurate shot, but by the break the northerners had built a four-goal advantage and led 6:2. In the third part, they still added two goals, Kauppiová stopped on four shots.

“We didn’t manage what we knew would be key. The course forced us to react in a way that the Finns were ready for. Although I don’t think that the start was bad from our side, we made mistakes that were not completely systemic, which put the opponents in a comfortable position,” acknowledged coach Lukáš Procházka.

The only possible springboard was converting chances. But productivity faltered. “That gradually brought us down, it took away our energy. The plan we had didn’t work out. We didn’t play well,” he didn’t make excuses.

So on Sunday (from 9:00 CET on CT 2), the Czechs will face the bronze medal match for the eighth time in a row, having won it only once, in 2011. The opponent will be the loser of the match between Switzerland and favored Sweden.
