Years pass, but Ben Simmons’ star just fails to shine in the top American basketball league despite the enormous expectations that accompanied his entry into the NBA in the summer of 2016 when he was selected in the draft by the Philadelphia 76ers with the first pick absolute.
Inserted in the trade that brought James Harden to the city of Rocky’s franchise, the 27-year-old Australian played only six matches this regular season with the Nets, averaging 6.5 points, 10.8 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game, due to a persistent back problem that will keep him away from the courts for at least another two weeks: a real disappointment for Brooklyn which is going through a complicated period with an open streak of four defeats in a row that has dropped it to ninth place in the Eastern Conference.
