The Atlanta Falcons and the Fate of Head Coach Arthur Smith: Decisions Looming as Regular Season Winds Down

The fate of Atlanta Falcons head coach Arthur Smith will be known in the coming weeks.

With three games remaining in the regular season, the club where Quebec guard Matthew Bergeron plays has maintained a 6-8 record and is currently in the midst of a two-game losing streak. The team, however, still has a chance of making the playoffs, since it can still finish in first place in the Southern section of the National.

“We are going to play our last three games and we want to win them. We’re going to finish the season and we’ll make decisions afterward,” Falcons owner Arthur Blank said when asked Wednesday about Smith’s future at the helm of his team.

“We demand to have a competitive club,” added the man whose comments were reported by GPB News. Quite honestly, I think there was some inconsistency at several points during our season.”

Smith is in his third campaign at the helm of the Falcons. In the previous two years, his team had identical seasons of 7-10.

The Georgia club has a meeting with the Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints to finish the year.
