Tatsuru Saito (21, fourth year at Kokushikan University), who has been selected to represent the men’s 100+ kilogram team at next summer’s Paris Olympics, moved on to the third-place match.

After winning three games, they faced Korean players in the semifinals. After receiving second instruction because his technique did not work, he lost one of his matose techniques due to a wazaari of haraigoshi, then a kesagatame.

“The most important thing is to perform to the best of my ability.I will not get too excited and will do my best” for the tournament, which I had hoped for. It was his first time participating in the only international tournament held in Japan, which he said he had been watching since he was in elementary school, but it was not his first time participating.

Appears from the second round. The Romanian player had a technique called Ouchi-gari, and he got a good start with a body drop, and then in the third round he won against the Ukrainian player with a matching technique (a technique that tightens the upper four sides from the Uchimata). In the quarterfinals, he defeated the Mongolian player in a four-way tie.

In the third place match, they will face Georgia.[Jun Kinoshita]
