Syntanics MBC Suffers Second Defeat Against Hamburg Towers

After the sensation against Alba Berlin, the Syntanics MBC suffered its second defeat in a row (81:86). Despite a late comeback, the MBC did not retain any points against Towers Hamburg in Weißenfels.

The Central German BC started the game with a nine-point run (9:3) and dominated the initial phase. However, Benka Barloschky’s men moved up to two points in the first quarter (Q1/23:21). The trend continued in the second quarter and Hamburg Towers took control of the game (43:35). Meanwhile, with 30 points from the Towers, the Syntanics only managed half as many points in the entire second quarter. The MBC went into the locker room with a 38:51 deficit.

Hamburg won’t let victory be taken away from them

Predrag Krunic and his team tried hard in the third quarter, but the guests defended successfully (55:67). In particular, Diante Baldwin (25 points), who was in a good mood, kept throwing baskets for the Weißenfels team, but the deficit was difficult to catch up with (Q3/55:67). In crunch time, the MBC tackled it again. The Syntainics scored eleven points in a row (65:73). However, the guests from Hamburg withstood the Weissenfels pressure phase and gave the Krunic team no chance.

Baldwin was the best thrower of the game with 25 points, but Charles Callison (14) and John Bryant (10) also scored frequently. It is the seventh defeat of the season for the MBC. The Weißenfelsers are currently ranked 15th in the table. Next, the Weißenfelsers will compete in the cup with Alba Berlin next Saturday (December 9th, 4 p.m., live on MDR television).
