(bf). Seven judoka from SV Fun-Ball Dortelweil took part in the St. Nicholas tournament in Hadamar shortly before Christmas and took several places on the podium. The competition was organized by the Elz Judo Club. The SV Fun Ball was represented in all age groups that day.
The U11 kicked off, with two tournament newcomers from Dortelweil able to prove themselves for the first time. Cem Keller fought for second place in his weight class. Mael Cuaresma was able to celebrate third place in his class at his first tournament. The two experienced tournament participants from Fun-Ball, Gereon Biehler and Louis Kowalicki, each took second place.
The latter once again couldn’t get enough of judo and also started in the U13 age group, together with Nathanael Sicurella. Both competed in well-filled weight classes, although they missed out on the podium, they were able to end the day with some victories and lots of new experiences.
The U15 age group was thinner than the other competitions. Particularly to the disappointment of Julian Laupus, who was assured of first place because he was the only participant in his weight class, but he achieved this result without a fight. Meanwhile, Emilia Richter secured second place in her weight class.
In the overall ranking of the day, SV Fun-Ball took eighth place of all 24 clubs represented and thus ended up in the top third. A result that athletes and coaches could be satisfied with.
