Sonora Judo Team Shines with 15 Medals at Baja Cup in Tijuana

The Sonora team won two gold medals, six silver and seven bronze, in the competition held in Tijuana, Baja California

A total of 15 medals, two gold, six silver and seven bronze, were achieved by the Sonoran judo team in its participation in the Baja Cup that was held in Tijuana, Baja California.

The pair of medals of the highest color went to Elvia Berrospe (First Force in 52 kilograms) and América Palma (U18 in 48) who were crowned champions in that contest in which they saw judoka action from both Bajas and Sonora (from Hermosillo, Ciudad Obregón and San Luis Río Colorado).

The silver medals were won by Aarón Becerra (Under 18 in more than 90 kilos), Abraham Paco (Under 15 in 55), Ramsés Paco (Under 18 in 90), Miriam González (Under 21 in 70), Humberto Escobar (First Force in 66) and Rubén Maldonado (Pre-Kindergarten at 31).

While the bronzes went to Ángel García (Under 18 in 63 kilos), Marina González (Under 21 in 52), Karlo Flores (Under 15 in 58), Eduardo Pérez (Pre-Children in 28), Matías Flores (Pre- Infant in 24), Lander Flores (Pre-Infantile in 24) and Darío González (First Force in 90).

For their part, with fifth places they finished: Ethienne Durazo (Under 15 in 64 kilograms), Emiliano Camargo (Under 15 in 64), Valeria Becerra (Under 18 in 70), Ulises Becerra (Under 21 in 81), Alberto Camacho (Under 18 in 81) and Íker Camacho (Sub 18 in 81).

In addition to Armando Baullet (Pre-Children in 31 kilograms), Alejandra Rascón (Pre-Children in more than 33) and Paulina Luján (Pre-Children in 57).
