Serge Gnabry suffered a hamstring injury in FC Bayern Munich’s 5-1 defeat at Eintracht Frankfurt. The club confirmed this on Sunday morning.
The winger injured his thigh just 160 seconds after being substituted in the 66th minute without any major external influence. After a short treatment on the pitch, Gnabry was substituted again in the 71st minute. Jamal Musiala came into the game for him after recovering from injury.
On Sunday, Bayern announced the diagnosis: it was a “muscle tendon injury in the left adductor area.” Gnabry “will therefore be missing in the coming games”.
The national player has not been able to move beyond the reserve role for the German record champions for weeks, but he also had to struggle with injuries beforehand. In the current season, the 28-year-old has only been on the pitch for 451 minutes in eleven appearances for Bayern.
