Rumor Mill: Is Kevin De Bruyne Really Moving to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Qadsiah?

The transfer madness continues…

A wild rumor from Saudi Arabia is making headlines: Second division team Al-Qadsiah is apparently planning to sign superstar Kevin De Bruyne (32). This is reported by the Saudi newspaper “Asharq al-Awsat”.

What sounds crazy at first is not completely impossible!

Because: Behind Al-Qadsiah is the financially strong oil company Aramco, which wants to establish the Saudi club. Al-Qadsiah is currently playing for promotion in the second Saudi league (place 3 in the table). If the club soon competes against Ronaldo and Co. in the upper house, the investors will want to dig deep into their pockets.

Promotion should also be the criterion for De Bruyne: According to the report, the Belgian can only imagine a move to the first Saudi league.

How realistic is the deal?

There are many rumors from Saudi Arabia, but there are also top transfers. Since the arrival of superstar Cristiano Ronaldo (38), many have followed suit (Neymar, Benzema, Mané, …). It cannot be ruled out that De Bruyne will also move to the desert – especially since his future at Man City is open.

The Belgian still has a contract until 2025; according to media reports, the club bosses only want to talk about an extension once De Bruyne is fit again.

He is currently missing from the Skyblues due to a torn muscle and will probably not be able to play again until the beginning of next year at the earliest. In the current season, De Bruyne has only made two appearances (one assist).

But one thing is also clear: De Bruyne is highly regarded by coach Pep Guardiola (52) and is an absolute top performer. His proud record: 96 goals and 153 assists in 358 games!

Reunion with ex-Mainzer?

At Saudi club Al-Qadsiah, De Bruyne would be the undisputed star. The team’s squad market value is currently around 15 million euros.

By the way: If De Bruyne really moves to the desert club, the Belgian could improve his German there. Ex-Mainz player Alexander Hack (30) has been playing there since the summer.
