RSC Anderlecht will have to do without Francis Amuzu for a still uncertain period. Brian Riemer announced the bad news this Friday at a press conference.
Francis Have fun suffers from recurring pubalgia which deprived him of 3 meetings in November. Back against Standard, the RSC Anderlecht winger suffered a relapse which kept him out of the squad again for the match at Antwerp. And this time, Amuzu won’t be coming back anytime soon.
Brian Riemer explained the situation this Friday at a press conference. “Francis has a problem with his pubic bone. We tried to avoid an operation and manage it prudently. Everything was done as best as possible with specialists in Belgium and England,” begins the Danish coach. “Unfortunately, this conservative treatment did not work. After his comeback against Standard, Francis suffered a relapse.”
Amuzu absent… Thorgan Hazard too
And from now on, Amuzu will have to play billiards. “An operation will be necessary. Francis will therefore be absent for a certain period, I cannot yet tell you for how long,” specifies Riemer. “We are devastated for Francis, of course. The ideal for his season would have been to avoid this operation.”

This bad news comes with another disappointment for this weekend: Thorgan Hazard, after missing 4 championship matches due to a muscle injury, is now fit… but will not be present to face Racing Genk. “Thorgan is recovered… but he has the flu,” reveals Brian Riemer, forced to laugh. “It’s incredible. He was finally ready. But he’s stuck at home, sick. I really hope that he will be recovered by December 27 against Cercle de Bruges.”
