Remembering Ingrīda Ose: A Legend in Latvian Sports and Education

Latvia has been shaken once again by a very sad news of mourning. A very well-known athlete and woman has passed away. How could all this happen and why is the situation so unforgivable in this case as well?

The Latvian Sports Pedagogy Academy (LSPA) has posted a sad message on the Facebook social network. Ingrid Ose, who was 77 years old, passed away after a serious illness. Ingrīda Ose was a teacher at LSPA school. She was also a really good athlete and had won some special titles.

According to LSPA Facebook, Ingrīda Ose was a really great basketball player. From 1964 to 1974, she played in the TTT women’s basketball team. In her career, she won the European Cup nine times, became the champion of the USSR eight times, twice won the Spartakiad of the peoples of the USSR in basketball.

Ingrīda Ose started working at LSPA in 1992. She ran the swimming department and helped with lab work. In 2004, she moved to a part-time position in the correspondence department.

Her new job was to help homeschooled students. She made sure everything was organized and running smoothly for these students.

On December 10, Ingrīda Ose passed away. A special farewell ceremony for her will be held tomorrow, December 15, at 12:00 in a special building at the Matīsa cemetery.
