Real Madrid successfully defended its lead in the Spanish league. The “Royals” won the home game against Granada 2-0 on Saturday evening with ÖFB star David Alaba in central defense and are still ahead of Girona on points after the 15th round. Brahim Diaz (26th) and Rodrygo (57th) helped Real to their fifth competitive win in a row, and there were also 13 defeats.
Thanks to a late double strike from Cristhian Stuani (82′, 88′), pursuers Girona previously had the upper hand against Valencia 2-1 at home. The surprise team has won seven of its most recent eight competition games and drew once.
