Raiders Dominate Chargers in Record-Breaking Game on Thursday Night Football

The Raiders showed no mercy to the down-and-out Chargers on Thursday Night Football (TNF) and although both franchises came into the game without their starting quarterbacks, the Las Vegas team managed to score 42 points in the first two quarters.

The Chargers had no response to the overwhelming gale of the Raiders who still have hopes of advancing to the Playoffs in the American Conference.

The Raiders’ 42 points in the first half

The Raiders took advantage of every mistake by the Chargers and the two fumbles suffered by the visitors were transformed into points for the Sin City franchise, who already led 21-0 in the first quarter.

Rookie Aidan O’Conell took advantage of his opportunity at quarterback and finished the first half with three touchdown passes in what has been his best performance so far in his first year in the NFL.

The record number of the Raides

In the face of such a beating, only records could round out a historic game for the Raiders and so it was. The Las Vegas franchise did not relax and before the end of the third period the score already read 56-7, they had barely given the Chargers a break.

That was not enough for the franchise record and the touchdown by Jack Jones, who intercepted Easton Stick, Los Angeles quarterback, sealed the record at 63 points, a number of units that the Raiders had never achieved.

In the so-called “garbage time”, the Chargers made the scoreboard a little more “decorous” with two more scores and the scoreboard at the end indicated a 21-63 in favor of the Raiders.

Raiders quarterback Aidan O’Conell finished with 248 yards and four touchdown passes.

The key was in the Chargers’ four turnovers and that almost all of them ended in points for the Raiders.
