PSG: expected in Paris, Moscardo will have foot surgery

Corinthians midfielder Gabriel Moscardo, expected this winter at Paris Saint-Germain, announced on Sunday that he would have to undergo “in the coming days” a “foot operation” which will keep him away from the field “for the next three months”.

“I would like to announce to everyone my decision that in the coming days I will undergo a small operation on my left foot,” explained the 18-year-old, who made his professional debut for Corinthians in 2023.

“After recent tests, it seems necessary to have this preventive operation which should keep me off the pitch for the next three months,” he said on Instagram. Contacted by AFP on Sunday evening, PSG did not react.

Arrived this Friday in Paris

Moscardo arrived in Paris on Friday to undergo medical examinations at the PSG Campus alongside another expected recruit from the winter transfer window, Brazilian central defender Lucas Beraldo, 20 years old.

On Friday, a source close to the club told AFP that the players’ contract was to be signed very soon, “fit perfectly into the new transformation of the club”: either young, not “bling-bling”, important for the collective and financially viable with long contracts so that costs are amortized, and low salaries with progressive increases.
