Pressure Mounts on Indonesian National Team Coach Shin Tae-yong After Minor Results

Jakarta, tvOnenews.com – The Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae-yong, is in the spotlight after suffering a number of minor results in the last two matches with the Garuda squad.

Two minor results for the Indonesian National Team occurred in the second round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifications, namely when they were crushed by Iraq 1-5 and played 1-1 against the Philippines.

A series of minor results also makes it difficult for the Indonesian national team’s hopes of reaching the 2026 World Cup. Currently, Elkan Baggott and his friends are at the bottom of the standings because they have only gained one point.

It is believed that PSSI will reconsider extending Shin Tae-yong’s contract, which ends in June 2024, if the targets given cannot be met.

As is known, Shin Tae-yong is targeted to bring the Indonesian national team through to the 2026 World Cup finals and qualify for the last 16 of the 2024 Asian Cup.

If the Indonesian national team is destroyed, Shin Tae-yong’s fate will be hanging in the balance and he could potentially be replaced by another coach.

There are at least five world-class coaches, who are reportedly being prepared to replace Shin Tae-yong in the Indonesian National Team. Who are they? Here’s the review.
