Daegu Urban Development Corporation announced on the 26th that President Myung-seop Jeong visited the wheelchair badminton team training at the Daegu Sports Association for the Disabled gymnasium to congratulate and encourage this year’s achievements.
The Daegu Urban Development Corporation wheelchair badminton team, founded on January 1, 2017, is a business team consisting of a coach and five players and is operated by the Daegu Sports Association for the Disabled.
The team has been making steady progress since its founding, achieving excellent results by participating in various international competitions in Spain, Thailand, Canada, etc. this year, as well as the National Sports Festival for the Disabled held in Yeosu in November.
In particular, at the ‘2022 Hangzhou Asian Para Games’ held in October this year, Choi Jeong-man won two silver medals in men’s singles and doubles, and Kim Jeong-jun won a silver medal in men’s doubles and a bronze medal in singles. They will go on the hunt for an Olympic medal by taking first and second place, respectively, at the 2024 national team selection held in November, earning a ticket to the ‘2024 Paris Paralympic Games’.
