Premier: Newcastle loses, Tottenham loses again – Football

Ahead of the decisive match against Milan in the Champions League next week, Newcastle were defeated 3-0 by Everton in a postponed matchday 15 of the Premier League. In the other match played tonight, Tottenham Hotspur lost 2-1 at home to West Ham.

On the pitch with a much reshuffled lineup due to the many injured players, Eddie Howe’s team conceded all the goals in the last ten minutes, scored by McNeil, Doucoure and the former Udinese player Beto. The success takes Everton out of the relegation zone where they ended up due to the ranking penalty inflicted for failure to comply with financial rules. Fans also staged a protest at Goodison Park today, displaying signs with the Premier League logo alongside the message: “Protect the few, not the many”.

For Spurs, today is their fourth defeat in their last five games, a series interrupted only by the 3-3 draw with Manchester City. Tottenham are now fifth in the table with 27 points, tied with Manchester United. West Ham, with the comeback in the second half thanks to goals from Bowen and Ward-Prowse, is instead at their third victory in four games, and is ninth with 24 points, -1 behind Brighton and -2 behind Newcastle.
