As the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast approaches and we will soon know the list of players selected by Djamel Belmadi, the DZfoot team offers you its own choices for the event.
To choose is to eliminate, and this adage was ours when establishing our own list of players for the next major continental competition. The criteria were obviously numerous: levelof course, but also credibility (no player that Djamel Belmadi is not likely to retain, or who has not yet taken steps for certain dual nationals), competitiveness (number of matches played this season, quality of performances at club and national level) or even integration into the locker room (personality, experience) thus occupied our minds when writing these 27 names on a sheet of paper… or on this board!
You will thus note the absences of Raïs M’bolhi (since Mandrea is number 1, we thought it would not be appropriate to have a former starter in the locker room), Djamel Benlamri (to which we preferred young Belaïd), Yasser Larouci (who almost never plays with Sheffield) or even Adem Zorgane (victim of competition) and Said Benrahma (deemed too often disappointing in selection). Conversely, DZfoot strongly wishes to review Abdelkahar Kadri in midfield, consider selecting Ismaël Bennacer who could bring on and off the field, as well as benefit from the talent and experience of Youcef Belaïli.
And you, what would have been your list for the next CAN? Don’t hesitate to give it to us in comments!
???????? ???? We debated, compared our ideas and our ideals and here is the result: DZfoot offers you its list of 27 for the CAN!
