DP World Posorja achieved a significant milestone in its commitment to sustainability and reducing carbon emissions. It has become the first port in Ecuador to quantify its carbon footprint.

This achievement is the result of an exhaustive process carried out in collaboration with the environmental consulting firm Sambito and verified by the evaluation body SGS. This effort is part of DP World Posorja’s broader vision of becoming one of the busiest and most important ports in the region.

The port’s infrastructure was designed with the most advanced technology, including a 16.5 meter deep channel that allows the entry of Neo Panamax vessels with maximum cargo capacity. These are the first to sail in Ecuadorian waters.

In addition, DP World Posorja received the first vessel powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to arrive in Ecuador, the container ship CMA CGM Liberty. These types of ships help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants in the maritime industry’s transportation by 20%.

These achievements reflect DP World Posorja’s commitment to efficiency, sustainability and innovation in the port industry.
