Oyonnax won against Pau (34-13) this Saturday for the 11th day of the championship.

Pau had the possibility this Friday evening of taking the provisional lead in the Top 14 ranking. Missed. Traveling to Oyonnax, the Béarnais were beaten (34-13) but remain, for the moment, second. While Miotti on one side and Simmonds on the other responded to each other’s feet, full-back Sweetnam was the first to enter the goal (25th). The powerful Gorgadze for Pau reduced the score and concretized the numerical superiority of his team (32nd), before Ruru, as a trickster, put Pau five points behind at half-time.

Asleep in the second half, the Paloise Section, too undisciplined, conceded four penalties from the Argentine gunner Miotti (44th, 62nd, 64th, 70th). At the very end of the match, the Oyonnaxiens even planted one last try thanks to a superb play between Bettencourt and Ikpefan, the latter flattening in a corner. Thanks to this significant success, the “Oyomen” finished the year well and moved back to 10th place in the ranking. Joe El Abd’s men will spend the holidays warm, with a comfortable mattress nine points ahead of the last, Montpellier.
