Lena Kreundl and Bernhard Reitshammer narrowly missed out on a medal at the European Short Course Championships in Otopeni (Romania) on Thursday. Kreundl took fifth place in the 100 m individual medley in a new Austrian record of 58.65 seconds; the 26-year-old was ultimately 32 hundredths of a second short of bronze. Reitshammer was on course for a medal in the 100 m breaststroke, and in the end the 29-year-old Tyrolean took sixth place in 57.18 seconds.
