“Okinawa Baseball Class 2023 in Chatan” was held at Agre Dome Chatan on the 30th, where current players from the prefecture who are active in professional baseball and independent leagues, as well as retired former players, interacted with children in the prefecture. Approximately 20 people participated, including Softbank’s pitcher Gyo Higashihama and infielder Richard, Chunichi’s pitcher Reia Nakaji, and Nippon Ham’s pitcher Kenta Uehara, and approximately 300 members of youth baseball teams received instruction.

Rui Kitamura of the Ameku Athlete Baseball Club, a sixth-grader at Ameku Elementary School, seemed satisfied, saying, “I learned how to throw the ball without moving my face.I feel like I have better control.”

Pitcher Higashihama said, “I want as many of them as possible to become professional players.I hope I can do something to help them.” Infielder Richard said, “The level of the children is high. I hope this event will give them an opportunity to dream.”
