Nuggets beat Warriors and extend winning streak

DENVER (AP) — Jamal Murray scored 28 points, Nikola Jokic overcame a poor shooting day by making all 18 of his free throws and the Denver Nuggets extended their winning streak to five straight in a 120-114 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Monday. Golden State Warriors.

Jokic finished with 26 points even though he was only 4 of 12 from the field and set a record with his 18 free throws. He also had 14 rebounds and eight assists.

Last Christmas, the Nuggets center exploded with 41 points, 15 rebounds and 15 assists in the overtime victory against Phoenix. But now the game went back and forth with nine lead changes in the second half. Denver went ahead definitively with 5:16 minutes left with a left-handed hook.

Andrew Wiggins gave the Warriors a boost with 22 points in his return to the court after missing two games due to illness. Stephen Curry took a bit to warm up and didn’t score any points until midway through the second quarter, but he finished with 18 points.

Golden State played the Christmas game for the 11th consecutive year.
