Not one more! The protest at the Caifanes concert – El Sol de México

The group Caifanes once again raised their voice in favor of women during their show tonight at the Palacio de los Deportes. The group invited the singer Vivir Quintana to sing “Song without fear”, a song released in 2020, which has become an anthem of the feminist struggle.

At the end, the 18 thousand people who attended the show united in one voice shouting “Not one more.” The rockers continued singing with a cause by singing “Before they forget us,” where they showed a message on the screens to demand justice for the disappearance of the 43 normalistas from Ayotzinapa.

The show, which started with a 35-minute delay causing fans to start whistling and turning on their cell phones, had started an hour earlier. The annoyance was left behind when the lights went out, and the group appeared on stage, greeting the attendees.

“Until you stop breathing”, “Viento”, “Detrás de ti” and “I’m looking at you” were the first songs in tonight’s repertoire. “It is still a dream to be here,” said Saúl Hernández, leader of the group.

“It was spectacular, unexpected, beautiful, and it is thanks to you, presenting the tour here in our house. It couldn’t be better, a round of applause for you race. Always applause, thank you very much for being here,” she added.

The singer would occasionally remain silent, to listen to the voices of his fans, who loudly chanted each song. With gestures, the musician gave thanks, visibly moved by seeing the enthusiasm of the public.

Other hits such as “Hidden Gods”, “Metamorfeame”, “Hasta muerte”, “Nubes” and “Ojo de venado” continued with the repertoire of this tour, which has already been presented in the interior of the Republic, and will soon set foot in Texas and Colombia.

As is customary in their shows, there was a block dedicated to social denunciation, which began with “Inés”, a recently released song, which portrays the journey of a woman who feels lost in the streets of Mexico City.

The singer-songwriter and poet Guillermo Briseño was another of the guests of the night, in “Hasta muerte”, and was presented by Saúl as one of his main influences in rock. When he was in high school,” he began to narrate, but was interrupted by people’s laughter.

“Yes I went to race school. “All rotten, but cultured,” she responded with a laugh. “I was in high school and I had the opportunity when a friend showed me an album, where there was a song that broke my head, changed my life. “I understood that composition was something sublime, magical, universal, that could transport us to the depths of the human being,” she added.
