Nordic combined: Oftebro wins the mass start in Ramsau in the sprint, but Riiber is lurking. 14th Coast

Jens Luraas Oftebro wins the Mass Start in Ramsauvalid as a cross-country segment over the 10 km distance of the first individual race of the Austrian weekend on the occasion of the third seasonal stage of the Nordic Combined Men’s World Cup 2023-2024. Only a partial success however, because later in the afternoon a jumping segment will take place which will certainly upset the rankings.

Oftebro burned his Norwegian compatriot in the sprint Joergen GraabakGerman Vincent Geigerthe Austrian Johannes Lamparterand the Teutonics Manuel Faisst and Johannes Rydzekthe Austrian Stefan Rettenegger and Finnish Eero Hirvonenall packed into less than five seconds which equates to 1.1 points in the jumping test.

Provisional ninth place for the yellow bib Earl Magnus Riiberwho however pays 8 seconds from the top and will therefore only have to make up 2 points on the springboard, confirming himself as the clear favorite for the final success in this format.

Good results in Italy for Samuel Costa and Raffaele Buzzi, 14th and 20th respectively at 41″ and 1’05” from the top with the hope of being able to defend themselves in the jump. The other blues are further away: 30° Aaron Costner a 1’15”, 46° Iacopo Bortolas at 2’51” and 47th Domenico Mariotti a 3’08”.
