When everyone thought that the ball would jump into the goal, Niklas Süle slid into the picture. BVB is only so accurate when it comes to signing an overrated player for too much money.

In the stadium in Dortmund you saw a giant slip this week. On Wednesday evening, Kylian Mbappé, the yellow vest among the Paris Saint-Germain players, stormed into the Dortmund penalty area with the ball, played past the BVB goalkeeper and then shot the ball towards the empty goal.

When everyone thought that the ball would jump into this one, Niklas Süle, 1.95 meters tall, slid into the picture – and at the right moment stretched his right leg so cleverly that he was able to clear the hopping ball with his shoe. The stadium was amazed.

BVB is only so accurate when it comes to spending far too much money on a rather overrated player from the Bundesliga. By the way: In Dortmund they tried to replace midfielder Jude Bellingham, who decides game after game for Real Madrid, with midfielder Marcel Sabitzer, among others.

But the impression is becoming more and more important that Bellingham was more important than some in Dortmund wanted to believe. And that BVB, which almost became champions (but only played 2-2 against Mainz without Bellingham), stood on the shoulders of a real giant last season.
