Kareem Abdul-JabbarNBA legend and one of the best basketball players ever, broke his hip last Friday as a result of a fall during a concert in Los Angeles, according to the ‘TMZ’ website.
According to this and other US online media, the former Lakers and Bucks player suffered a nasty slip at that concert and ended the night in the hospital at the age of 76. The representative of the former Los Angeles center, Deborah Morales, confirmed the news in statements to ‘TMZ’.
Campus paramedics responded quickly and transported Abdul-Jabbar to UCLA Hospital. Although his condition was not revealed, Morales commented that the former player was “deeply grateful” for the support received from the Los Angeles Fire Department and also for the “incredible team” of doctors who were taking “very good” care of him.
Abdul-Jabbar played for 20 seasons in the NBA, leaving a unmatched legacy. Six rings, six MVPs, 19 All-Star contests and, until a few months ago when his record was broken by LeBron James, top scorer in the history of the league.
