Just a few weeks ago, Steph Curry’s character in NBA 2K24 received an upgrade to 97 points and climbed to second place. Now the developer is putting the professional from the Golden State Warriors in reverse gear: The latest rating update deducts one point from Curry and leaves him virtually with 96. But it’s not just the 35-year-old’s digital alter ego that takes on such a little rollercoaster ride.
For Victor Wembanyama things had only been going up recently – with Update 11.30 the setback follows. The San Antonio Spurs rookie is back at 85 points in NBA 2K24 after being raised to 86 in mid-November. In addition to Curry, among the top-rated players, Luka Doncic from the Dallas Mavericks also suffered a downgrade. The Slovenian now has a rating of 95 (-1).
German brothers continue to climb
The characters of the two Wagner brothers, who became basketball world champions with the German national team in September, experienced an opposite development. Franz Wagner virtually gains a point and only has an overall rating of 83. 2K Games also gives his older brother Moritz another point, which raises the overall rating to 78.
Moritz Wagner had already been positively taken into account in the last round of adjustments – back then together with world champion captain Dennis Schröder. However, the Toronto Raptors point guard comes away empty-handed this time. This also applies to the Los Angeles Clippers: They are the only franchise that only experiences downgrades. Among the players affected are big names like Kawhi Leonard (90 after -2) and James Harden (86 after -3).
The Indiana Pacers, however, were the only team that was only given upgrades. Tyrese Haliburton made the biggest jump, whose rating rose from 90 to 92. Meanwhile, Devon Booker from the Phoenix Suns ranks highest among the winners of the update. An extra point helped the shooting guard to a 95 rating and tied for fourth place in this category.
