Marcos Nader announced his retirement from boxing on Saturday. The 33-year-old was EBU EU champion, IBF International champion and Austrian champion.
“The fire no longer burns as it should. I have fought over 150 fights as an amateur and professional. You noticed it in the last few fights: I was sometimes good, but not better. Not being up to speed is death for a boxer,” said the Viennese on ORF.

“It’s just exhausting to train twice a day as a competitive athlete. I also have to work and have a family and two children. It’s a cost-benefit calculation, and there simply wouldn’t have been enough left to make it worthwhile,” says Nader.
