NAC and Willem II will compete for the KKD period title on Friday evening

On Friday evening it will become clear who will win the second period title in the Kitchen Champion Division: Willem II or NAC Breda. From 7:15 PM ESPN will watch this beautiful KKD evening and at 8:00 PM the NAC and Willem II matches can be seen live on ESPN. Of course, the other eight matches can also be followed via the switching channel.

In the last round of the second period, Willem II plays at home against Helmond Sport (live on ESPN3). NAC has to go to The Hague for the away match against ADO Den Haag (live on ESPN4). When Willem II does its duty and wins at home against Helmond Sport, it takes the second period. If Willem II draws, a remarkable situation can arise.

Decision-making match?

A decision match may then be necessary to decide the second period. Willem II and NAC Breda hardly differ from each other. The people of Tilburg have two points more with a goal difference of 21-6, the people of Breda have a goal difference of 20-7.

If the Tilburg team draws 1-1 against Helmond Sport and NAC wins 0-2 in The Hague, the rivals will end exactly the same in the second period. To determine who wins the second period, a decision match will be played between the two Brabant clubs. This will also happen with scores of 2-2 and 1-3, 3-3 and 2-4, and so on.

According to the KNVB, this decisive match must be played on neutral grounds, in consultation with the local triangle and the competition board. However, nothing is clear yet about when this match will be played. The desire is to do this “as quickly as possible”.

What makes the situation difficult is that Willem II will play in the cup during the week next week. Both clubs will also play a match next weekend. Interestingly enough, this is also against each other.

After the winter break

This full program will make it difficult to play this match before the winter break, unless the KNVB shifts the other matches. Of course, the question is whether this decisive match will be necessary. Willem II has won its last seven home games and Helmond has won only two of its last nine games.

On Friday, the Kitchen Champion Division can be followed from 7:15 PM on ESPN 1. Pascal Kamperman and Hans Kraay Jr. will update you completely and from 8:00 PM you will be able to switch between all fields. The Willem II – Helmond Sport match can be seen live on ESPN 3 from 7:50 PM. The ADO Den Haag – NAC match can be followed live on ESPN 4 from 7:50 PM.
