Monique Éthier: A Lifetime of Volunteerism and Community Engagement in Sainte-Julie

Born in France, Monique Éthier arrived in Sainte-Julie in 1971 when the village then had barely 2,000 souls. She has increased her volunteer efforts to offer young and old many leisure activities over the decades.
@R: She gave her all, despite having four children, to develop soccer, volleyball, badminton, gymnastics, ringette and broomball by creating the organization Les Gymnases Sainte-Julie . Energetic, dynamic and unifying, she was also at the head of the Sainte-Julie Soccer Club for more than 15 years.
In 2005, one of his big dreams came true with the construction of the Vallée du Richelieu Sports Center, which offered soccer and other indoor sports. Today the complex has made way for the Zükari indoor amusement center, which has been pursuing a similar goal for 10 years now: to get young people moving. Monique Éthier has therefore always been very active and she played badminton until the age of 87, two years before the illness took her away on January 30, 2023 at the age of 89.
