Monaco Faces Tough Test Against Boulogne-Levallois Despite Victory

Monaco, solid leader of the Championship, could expect an easy match at Boulogne-Levallois, the red lantern, on Tuesday evening, in a meeting counting for the 18th day of Betclic Élite. Sasa Obradovic’s men still won (85-77), but had to work hard to avoid falling into the trap set by the Mets.

Led by Jordan Theodore (22 points, 4 rebounds), the Boulogne-Levallois players, in their Marcel-Cerdan sports center, posed real problems for the Monegasques, particularly in the first half. Already dominant in the first quarter (24-20, 10th), the Ile-de-France residents did it again in the second which they also won 18-13.

Trailing by 9 points at the break, Monaco returned to the floor with much better intentions, regaining their automatisms in attack and winning the second half 52-35. Matthew Strazel (21 points) and Elie Okobo (20 points, 8 assists) allowed the Monegasques to consolidate their leadership position by winning a 16th match in the last 17 meetings.
