Memphis Grizzlies Fire Kenneth Lofton Jr. to Make Roster Space for Ja Morant’s Return from Suspension

The Memphis Grizzlies have made the decision to fire Kenneth Lofton Jr. to create space on their roster that allows the return to the courts of Ja Morant, suspended for the first 25 games of the regular season after his new incident with firearms , the newspaper reported The Memphis Commercial Appeal.

Lofton Jr.’s contract is fully guaranteed and he will receive every last dollar of the 1.7 million agreed upon. The barely 21-year-old interior has spent most of his professional career enrolled in the ranks of the Memphis Hustle of the G League. However, he has also received opportunities in the NBA with figures of 4.1 points and 1.7 rebounds in 39 official games.

For his part, the one who will continue will be center Bismack Biyombo, signed to cover the Grizzlies’ interior losses, and who has managed to convince coach Taylor Jenkins, even taking over the starting job.
