Matilde Lauria Shines in Tokyo Grand Prix: A Step Forward for Paris 2024 Paralympic Qualification

Excellent performance by Matilde Lauria in Japan: at the Tokyo Grand Prix, in the J1 -70 kg category, the Neapolitan beat the Kazakh Dinara Kujulova in the quarterfinals before being defeated by Turuunaa Lkhaijav, judoka from Mongolia, later winner of the gold medal on the Greek Theodora Paschalidou.

For Lauria, a good step forward towards qualification for the Paris 2024 Summer Paralympic Games.

The other Italian in the race, Simone Cannizzaro, was overtaken in the first round by the British Evan Molloy.

Positive outcome for the Italian national Judo Fispic team and for the technical staff, present in Japan with the coach Fabio Martellacci and the physiotherapist Giorgio Perexample.
