MAIF Sport Planète / Rapid’Eau: 1 million bottles of which sport has been a blessing to the planet!

Every plastic bottle less is a victory: victory over pollution, victory over water waste. Launched by the company Gloo Concept by Eurocom with the economic support of MAIF, the Rapid’eau is a water ramp for refueling which, since its creation and in just 347 events, has saved more than 1 million plastic bottles on sporting events.

Connected to the drinking water network, this light and mobile structure, the result of 2 years of development, can align an infinite number of taps on 2-meter modules comprising 4 taps, extendable as desired. Its most common version being a 6 meter water boom and 12 distribution nozzles. The performance of this Rapid’eau is due to the refueling speed of the runners who can refuel on the move. Each nozzle delivers 25 cl of water per second and a six-meter boom can supply twelve athletes simultaneously. The device only requires 1h30 for assembly and disassembly.

Philippe Tauvel, brand engagement and societal actions manager at MAIF : We want to help finance the ecological transition of sports event organizers and those who provide them with the means to progress. This product corresponds in every way to the request made to our sporting partners, federations and event organizers, to move towards zero waste. In addition to being useful, these ramps offer beautiful display surfaces to sponsors and therefore a source of income for the organizers. Being respectful of nature does not entail additional costs!

This collaboration is part of the Sport Planète movement federated by MAIF, which wishes to engage the world of sport in a more eco-responsible practice, and in this specific case, in better preservation of water and avoidance of waste. As a reminder, a marathon of 50,000 runners generates 400,000 plastic bottles and only 9% of plastic is recycled.
