Los Angeles Dodgers Close to Signing Tyler Glasnow to $135 Million Deal

The Los Angeles Dodgers and starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow are close to reaching a five-year, $135 million deal, reports ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

The club would have an option for the fifth year of the contract, so the value of the pact could rise to $145 million. If the team does not exercise its option, Glasnow could exercise his and collect $20 million.

Glasnow was acquired by the Dodgers from the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday, along with outfielder Manuel Margot, in exchange for pitcher Ryan Pepiot and outfielder Jonny Deluca.

He went 10-7 with a 3.53 ERA with the Rays last season, striking out 162 batters and allowing 37 walks in 120 innings of work.

The 30-year-old is 30-27 with a 3.89 ERA in eight seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Rays.
