Lieshout – In the 12th division of the class ‘Men, playing with a feather shuttle’, the Lieshout men’s team has now been treated to two losses after previous victories. In the Veldhoven Atalanta sports hall the team was sent home 6-2 and in their own sports hall the Klumper, despite many evenly matched matches, the team could not make a real fist against the strong Rudra United.
VBSC-H2 – BCL-H1/BouwCenter Swinkels: 6-2
The result suggests that the Veldhoven/Indian gentlemen were much better than their Lieshout opponents. That was the case in some parties, but certainly not everywhere. Bert Manders, for example, lost 25-23 in the added third set to Yuvaraj Palanisamy. So very close. The other singles matches also ended quite close: Laurence Roijackers lost 21-19 and 21-18 to Balaji Pandurangan and Ruud van Vijfeijken achieved the same set scores against Kiran Hosur. Jeroen van der Heiden scored slightly less against Dhanasekaran Narayanaswamy, but did have the opponent with the longest and most difficult name. Because Bert Manders first won two doubles matches together with Jeroen van der Heiden and later with Ruud van Vijfeijken, two points could still be taken to Lieshout.
BCL-H1/BouwCenter Swinkels – Rudra United-H2: 2-6
The home match against the Eindhoven/Indian team of Rudra United was somewhat comparable to the away match against VBSC. Here too, many Indians came to the start and here too the games were always evenly matched. It was also striking here that the games ultimately always turned out in favor of Rudra. Satyanarayana Vaidani won 21-16, 17-21 and 19-21 against Ruud van Vijfeijken. Bert Manders also lost narrowly. With 19-21 and 18-21, Ashwin Prabhat was slightly better. The doubles matches also went well, but here the gentlemen from Lieshout were able to win a few matches. Wouter van Vijfeijken and Bert Manders won 21-11 and 21-19 and (again) Bert Manders won with Jeroen van der Heiden 23-21 and 22-20 against Milan Sweep and Satyanarayana Vaidani.
