In addition to seeing his son Bronny return to competition after his cardiac arrest, LeBron James was treated to another piece of very good news recently. A nugget that he had taken under his wing has indeed just escaped a very heavy sentence, the player in question reacting immediately after the announcement of the verdict.

We are certainly still far from it, but the 2024 and 2025 draft vintages already look promising. Next summer, we should see nuggets like Matas Buzelis, the French Alexandre Sarr and Zaccharie Risacher or even Bronny James arrive in the big league. As for the following year, however, one of the biggest prospects had seen his future seriously cloud over in recent times.

It is not so rare that players who have committed serious misdeeds in college or high school are still guaranteed to join the NBA, as long as their talent is high enough. Just like Brandon Miller last year when he was directly linked to a murder case, Mikey Williams is announced as a top prospect and managers will consider that as a priority. Even if it’s not to the fans’ taste…

This guy has to make a one-way trip to China and play overseas.

Mikey Williams came close to living most of his life behind bars, but he ultimately got off easy. On the other hand, we do not know when he will play for Memphis University at this time. His future in the NBA should not be in danger, however, when we remember the Brandon Miller affair a few months ago…
