The traditional solidarity race of San Silvestre, organized by the Palma-Palmilla Municipal District Board and the Social Rights and Sports Areas, reached its twelfth edition this Sunday. The race started at 9:30 a.m. with the participation of about 1,000 athletes. An event that grows every year as a sporting event and is characterized by offering an option for active and healthy leisure, promoting physical exercise, as well as highlighting the integration work carried out in the District.
This solidarity race is organized by the Malaga City Council, through the Palma-Palmilla District Board and the Areas of Social Rights and Sports, together with the association for the Integration of the Gypsy Community and the 26 de Febrero Sports Club. Likewise, it has the collaboration of the Rosaleda Shopping Center, Carrefour Hypermarket, Málaga Sport Destination, Proyecto Hogar, BCM Gestionarte and ‘Málaga, How do I love you!?’.
Route
The race began on Mark Twain Street, next to the door of the Rosaleda Shopping Center, and ended at the Virreina soccer field., next to the Puente de la Palmilla, after walking through the different streets of the district. As in previous years, the race consisted of two routes with a single start. The short test was two kilometers and the long test was ten kilometers.
The proceeds obtained go to the 26 de Febrero Sports Club Association and the PalmaPalmilla Gypsy Community Integration Association..
