Klosterneuburg and Traiskirchen continue their successful streak

The Dukes Klosterneuburg easily defended their top position in the Basketball Super League against the Vienna Timberwolves. The Lower Austrians celebrated an 83:53 away win on Boxing Day and are going into the final round of the year with a two-point lead over the Traiskirchen Lions. The Lions won their seventh win in a row with an 84:76 win against BC Vienna.

The Dukes pulled away at the end of the first quarter and were no longer in danger of losing their sixth win in their last seven games. The pursuer from Traiskirchen had to fight harder. The Lions were nine points behind after the first quarter, but turned the game around with a 25-4 run in the 13th minute. The Viennese came within two points at the beginning of the final third, but Traiskirchen couldn’t miss their next success.

The Oberwart Gunners lost at home to UBSC Graz 77:85, SKN St. Pölten prevailed against BBC Nord Dragonz 83:63. The Bulls Kapfenberg won against bottom team Panthers Fürstenfeld, who still had no points, with 96:89.
