Judge in the US will keep “El Patrón” in prison for attack against Ciro Gómez Leyva – El Sol de México

Considering that there is a risk of flight, a judge in the United States denied conditional freedom to Armando Escárcega Valdez, “El Patrón”, accused of coordinating the attack against journalist Ciro Gómez Leyva, on December 15 of last year.

The Attorney General’s Office reported that its Coordination of International Affairs and Attaché Offices (CAIA) and the Special Prosecutor’s Office for Human Rights (FEMDH) managed to keep this man in prison, due to his dangerous nature when he was designated as head of hitmen of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.

He explained that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) supported this case by sending all the documentation to the authorities of that country regarding the extradition order that exists against “El Patrón”, who is part of a criminal cell.

At the hearing held today, the Judge of the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of California determined that the trial for the federal crime of Immigration Fraud will continue in January 2024, although the date has yet to be set.
