Joe Flacco, Jake Browning, and Derek Carr Lead Their Teams to Victory in Week 14 of the NFL

In his second start with the Cleveland Browns, Joe Flacco led the team to their first victory in three games with a 31-27 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

The Jaguars also had trouble at quarterback, but avoided the worst in the case of Trevor Lawrence, who was finally at his position. He suffered an ankle injury last week, and the Jags feared he would miss a few weeks while fighting for the playoffs.

Lawrence had a shaky first half completing only half of his passes and being intercepted twice out of a total of three.

Jacksonville’s first major was initiated by safety Andrew Wingard, who made Amari Cooper lose the ball deep in Browns territory. Lawrence capitalized on the turnover by throwing a touchdown pass to Evan Engram to cut the deficit in half, to 14-7.

The Ravens fell behind five different times in the game, but they managed to come back each time.

Atlanta has had all sorts of issues on the offensive line. Center Drew Dalman (ankle) and right tackle Kaleb McGary (knee) did not play due to injuries. Left tackle Jake Matthews left the game with a knee injury in the first half. Matthews has made 156 consecutive starts, a team record, but that streak could be in jeopardy.

Right guard Chris Lindstrom also suffered an ankle problem, but was able to return to the game. He and left guard, Quebecer Matthew Bergeron, were the only regulars on a line where Ryan Neuzil made his second career start and two other players, Storm Norton and Tyler Vrabel, got their first starts. Vrabel had just been recalled from the practice squad.
