Joan Mir is happy that the performance of Honda motorbikes has improved

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Repsol Honda racer Joan Mir said he was happy after completing the Valencia 2023 test session which was held at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit.

Marc Marquez’s former teammate said there was an improvement in the Honda motorbike he would ride for next season’s race. According to Mir, this is the first major evolution carried out by the Japanese racing team.

“This is something that makes me very happy. “This is the first time I started to see some evolution on the motorbike, the package, and we tried a lot of things,” said Mir, quoted from Crash, Thursday (30/11/2023).

“In terms of speed I can be strong and gain feeling, confidence with it. “We will do some homework so that Honda can arrive at Sepang with a better bike,” he continued.

Apart from riding the new 2024 RC213V motorbike, the Valencia test session was also Mir’s first moment paired with new crew chief Santi Hernandez, who has worked with Marquez since he was in Moto2. Mir said that the first day of working with Santi was very enjoyable.

“Very good. I had the opportunity and opportunity to change positions and I am very happy with that decision. “I enjoyed my time in the pitbox and it was a slightly different working method, but I really enjoyed it,” said Mir.

For your information, next season, Mir will team up with Valentino Rossi’s younger half-brother, Luca Marini, who has officially moved from the Ducati satellite team to the Repsol Honda factory team. Marini replaces Marquez who is defending Gresini Racing in MotoGP 2024.
