Jaén Municipal Sports Board Announces Ambitious Christmas and Three Kings Program

The Municipal Sports Board has organized a special program of activities to celebrate Christmas and the Three Kings that will run from tomorrow, Saturday, December 2 to January 4, which includes a series of championships, trophies, solidarity tournaments, conferences, sports adapted or exhibitions that include sports such as tennis, judo, athletics, soccer, table tennis, rhythmic gymnastics, adapted paddle tennis or swimming.

The Councilor for Sports, Chema Álvarez, highlighted in a statement that it is an “ambitious” proposal because it touches on many sports disciplines where fans and practitioners of these sports will be able to enjoy these activities. Of course, it will make the city of Jaén alive since “A lot of people will come from outside to participate in these sporting events.”

The activity begins this weekend, with the celebration, between tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday, of the IX Circuit of the Seasons by NTAC First Test: Autumn tennis. The event organized by the “30 equals” club will take place on the Las Fuentezuelas courts and is aimed at players from four years old to adults.

Also this weekend, specifically on Sunday, the Judo Christmas Trophy will be held, which aims to promote the youth of this sport at the provincial level. Organized by the Athenas Sports Club and the stage will be the La Salobreja pavilion.

In addition, on Sunday, December 3, the twenty-fifth edition of the Jaén Marathon Sports Association’s Bridge Race will take place. This is a non-competitive test with an 18 kilometer route that will run for another year between dirt and asphalt roads of the Jontoya Bridge and the Puente de la Sierra. Both the start, scheduled at ten in the morning, and the finish line will be located on the Ángel Cortés athletics track at the La Salobreja municipal sports facilities.

On Sunday, December 10, it will be the turn of table tennis, with the VII ‘Fundación Caja Rural’ Christmas Inclusive Solidarity Tournament, which will be held in the Antonio Maza room of the Fernando Arévalo Sports Park. The tournament organized by the CDTM Hujase Jaén is open to the entire young population, federated or not, and includes a solidarity basket that will be made up of the belongings, articles and food that each player, family member, friend or supporter wants to contribute.

In addition, a Bizum will be enabled to accept donations that will be transformed into food and necessary items to be delivered to the Santa Clara Soup Kitchen.

A double session of rhythmic gymnastics is planned for Saturday, December 16. In the morning, the XIII Christmas Festival organized by the GR Ciudad de Jaén Club will be held, which will be in the Carlos Martínez Esteban pavilion on the Bulevar. In the afternoon, on the same stage, the Christmas exhibition of the Veracruz Rhythmic Gymnastics Club will take place.

On Thursday, December 21, the Adapted Paddle Concentration will be held, which includes theoretical and practical classes in this sport. The organization is run by the Andalusian Paddle Federation and will take place on the slopes of the Fernando Arévalo Sports Park. On Saturday of the same week, December 23, the XIII 7-a-side Football Championship ‘No child without a toy’ will be held in the youngest and youngest categories, organized by the El Valle Sports Association.

Their teams will compete against other guests for the occasion and the objective is to collect toys to distribute among the most disadvantaged children. It will be held at the Sebastián Barajas football field and at Antoñete.

From December 26 to 30, the spotlight will be on the first Women’s Technique Football Conference, organized by the Jaén Olympic Club and which will have the presence of different top-level coaches to direct the training sessions, in addition to professional footballers from both the province as well as from outside. On December 30, meanwhile, a new edition of the Turkey Trophy will take place, which will pit residents of the La Alcantarilla neighborhood and residents of Puente de la Sierra, whose neighborhood association organizes the activity, in a 7-a-side soccer match. It will be on the Puente de la Sierra soccer field.

For the last day of the year, the 31st, the XXVIII Climb to the Castle of Santa Catalina is scheduled, a festive, non-competitive race organized by the Quiebrajano Athletics Club.

On January 3, Wednesday, the XV Atlético Jaén Solidarity Football Marathon will be held, in which players from all categories of the club will participate to celebrate a day of coexistence and help to those most in need. Each participant will contribute a toy or a batch of non-perishable food. The collection will be delivered to non-profit entities such as the Food Bank or the Red Cross, among others.
