Veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett will start for the Washington Commanders on Sunday when the team receives a visit from the powerful San Francisco 49ers.
Commanders head coach Ron Rivera said he wanted to give Sam Howell a chance to take a step back “after a long season.” »

Howell has been scratched the last two games, including the team’s most recent 30-28 loss to the New York Jets.
The 23-year-old leads the NFL in interceptions with 17. Howell is second behind Patrick Mahomes in passes attempted this season (557).
For his part, Brissett will become the 13th quarterback to start for the Commanders since 2018.
