Two weeks after Italy’s Davis Cup title, the second in the country’s history, the president of the Italian Tennis Federation, Angelo Binaghi, expressed his satisfaction and optimism for the future during an interview granted to La Gazzetta dello Sport. For him, leader Jannik Sinner should be even better supported in the future.
“Sinner has the qualities to quickly become world number one, but let’s not forget that we won the Davis Cup without Berrettini, after a season where Musetti and Sonego did not reach their peak performances of the previous year and where Arnaldi was practically a beginner on the circuit. This means that we still have enormous potential to exploit.”
