Isaiah Hartenstein and the New York Knicks Battle for the NBA In-Season Tournament Title

The NBA’s In-Season Tournament is entering its hot phase and Isaiah Hartenstein is the only German professional who still has a chance of securing the title in the first edition. With the New York Knicks, the 25-year-old center will face top star Giannis Antetokounmpo in the quarterfinals against the Milwaukee Bucks on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday (1:30 a.m.).

If Hartenstein’s Knicks win against the current second-place team in the Western Conference, they will face the winner of the duel between the Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics in the semifinals (Tuesday, 1:30 a.m.).

In the two quarterfinals in the West, the Sacramento Kings will play against the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday (4 a.m.) and the Los Angeles Lakers around superstar LeBron James will play against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday (4 a.m./all DAZN). The semi-final games in Las Vegas will follow on the night of Thursday to Friday. The final, also in Las Vegas, is scheduled for Saturday.

As in the play-offs at the end of the season, the best teams from the east and west will play in the final. In the first phase of the tournament, both conferences initially played the quarter-finalists in three groups of five. It has already been the final destination for world champions Daniel Theis (Los Angeles Clippers), Dennis Schröder (Toronto Raptors), Franz and Moritz Wagner (both Orlando Magic), as well as for Maximilian Kleber (Dallas Mavericks).

New York advanced to the next round as the best group runner-up in the East. All results of the in-season tournament apart from the final are also included in the regular season table. The remaining games are also important for Hartenstein and the Knicks, currently in fourth place in the East, for the fight for the play-offs.
