The International Tennis Federation (ITF) and the Argentine Tennis Association confirmed two new events that will start on February 20.

Brenda Fruhvirtova became champion of the SMT Cup.

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) and the Argentine Tennis Association confirmed two tournaments (an M25 and W15) that will be held from February 20 to 26. Although it is not confirmed, the venue could be Lawn Tennis.

“It is a joy to hold these international tournaments that will be played for a week. It comforts me that they give us that support again. The work we have been doing has been very well received within the international concert,” he said. Augusto Arquez, president of the Tucumán Tennis Association. “We start in 2022 and there are 12 tournaments in the same venue. I think it has no precedent in South America,” he added, ensuring that the name for the event has not been defined.

“They confirmed to me that they would be held here a week ago and, since we still do not have the sponsors, the name has not been defined. We have discussed some, but as soon as we confirm it we are going to make it known,” he indicated.

Arquez explained that they must find sponsors to cover the entire prize for the winners. “We have insured Prize Money from the International Federation that covers 50% of the main prize, which is around U$S40,000,” she commented. “Today there is parity between the official and blue dollars. That benefits us. But we have to manage the other sponsors that we have already talked about,” he added.

“We believe that the public will continue to accompany us. It is a big gamble and challenge to run these tournaments. We always have to have a little bit of madness to carry out these events. Leaving is very easy and to continue you have to work. That’s what we’re doing,” she closed.
