This Saturday, December 9, the Departmental Judo Committee is organizing with Font-Romeu judo, an intergenerational training/course open to Cerdans judokas from both sides of the border and Andorrans. This is a first for Cerdanya. Intergenerational training is organized at the dojo. On this occasion, the veterans group from the Plaine du Roussillon will travel to Cerdagne and Jean Barcelo 6th dan and high ranking officer from the Pyrénées-Orientales will participate in the event. “The objective is to show the territorial uniqueness and the very close links that Cerdanya maintains with Andorra in the field of judo,” explains Justine Schmitt, sports director of Font-Romeu judo and judo teacher. This day is an opportunity to promote and highlight this sport in the region with a view to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. “We also want to show that judo with all its advantages under its Moral and Health Code, can – be practiced at all ages, thanks to the arrival of veteran judokas from the Plaine du Roussillon. Indeed, this training will allow you to meet judokas of all ages (from 12 to 78 years old) licensed by the French Judo Federation, but also Spanish, Catalan and Andorran guests. A friendship drink will be offered by the judo club at the end of the training.
From 2 to 4 p.m. at the community dojo. Training open to judokas from French and Spanish Cerdanya and Andorran, minimum to veteran categories. License obligation currently being validated. Free. Information: Justine Schmit on 06 68 00 38 19.
