Young Indian badminton player Priyanshu Rajawat entered the men’s singles semi-finals of the Syed Modi International Badminton Tournament with a straight games win over Alvi Farhan of Indonesia on Friday. 21-year-old player Priyanshu from Madhya Pradesh won 21-15 21-16 over world junior champion Farhan in the quarter-finals of the BWF World Tour Super 300 tournament that lasted 49 minutes.

Priyanshu, who won the Orleans Masters Super 300 tournament this season, will face either Chi Yu Jen or Chia Hao Lee of Taiwan. World number 32 and seventh seed Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa won 21-19 21-8 over Commonwealth Games bronze medalists Trisa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand. Tanisha and Ashwini have won the Nets International Challenge and Abu Dhabi Masters Super 100 this year.
